Pathum Thani bank robbery: Masked gunman steals 1.5 million baht
A masked gunman robbed a TMBThanachart Bank branch in the Khlong Luang district of Pathum Thani on September 10, escaping with approximately 1.5 million baht.
The suspect, described as being about 170 centimeters tall and wearing a red shirt, gloves, and a balaclava, entered the branch shortly before closing. He reportedly used an iron bar to jam the door shut to prevent entry or exit before threatening six employees with an automatic firearm. The robber seized 500,000 baht from the teller counters and forced an employee to open the safe, from which he took an additional one million baht.
Following the heist, the suspect fled in a grey Toyota Vios sedan. The vehicle was later discovered completely destroyed by fire in a wasteland along Phaholyothin Road. Investigators determined that the car's license plates were forged. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from escape routes and conducting forensic examinations of the vehicle to identify the perpetrator.
