Pathum Thani police commander orders probe into sleeping officers
Pathum Thani Provincial Police Commander Peerapol Chotikasthien has ordered an internal investigation into officers at the Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station following allegations of negligence.
A local man reported that when he arrived at the station to seek assistance for a homeless woman struggling with drug addiction, he found the officers on duty asleep. The man claimed that when he woke the officers, they responded rudely and refused to provide help.
The commander has set a three-day deadline for the investigation to determine which officers were on duty, whether negligence occurred, and if any staff members behaved inappropriately. Peerapol noted that any officers found to have violated regulations will face disciplinary action and emphasized that all provincial police stations must remain ready to assist the public 24 hours a day.
