Journalist Pati Chapoy avoided questioning from reporters regarding a recent controversy involving animal welfare comments made by her colleague, Pedro Sola. The encounter occurred as Chapoy arrived at a high school graduation event for singer Christian Castro.

Reporters sought comment on why Chapoy had not issued a public apology following comments made by Sola on the program ‘Ventaneando’. Sola had expressed frustration regarding the presence of dogs in public spaces and restaurants, using language that critics interpreted as referencing animal poisoning. While Sola later issued a public apology and participated in a visit to the Yaakunah Foundation, Chapoy faced criticism for laughing during the original broadcast.

When pressed by the media, Chapoy responded, “But I did apologize,” before walking away from the microphones to enter the venue.
