Pati sidewalk renovation project under scrutiny by Ministry of Public Works

The Ministry of Public Works is addressing concerns regarding the sidewalk renovation project on Sudirman Street in Pati Regency. Following inspections by the Pati Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) which highlighted issues with construction quality, officials have clarified the project's technical management.

Representatives from the Ministry of Public Works stated that the project, funded by the state budget (APBN), is being executed according to established specifications. They confirmed that new materials, specifically paving, are being used as planned in previous focus group discussions. Officials noted that any cracked or imperfect sections will be replaced, as the project is currently approximately 40 percent complete with a deadline of December 31, 2026.

The Pati Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Department (DPUTR) clarified that it was not involved in the technical details, planning, or supervision of the project. The responsibility lies with the Regional Settlement Infrastructure Agency, a vertical institution under the Ministry of Public Works. While DPUTR was involved in initial socialization, it remains a channel for communicating community and legislative feedback to the relevant authorities.
