Patialo Village receives 24-hour electricity access

Patialo Village, located in the Mandailing Natal Regency of North Sumatra, has gained access to 24-hour electricity provided by PLN. The village, which is situated 7 kilometers from the main road of Kotanopan District, previously relied on limited self-managed electricity from water wheels or kerosene lamps.

The electrification was achieved through the New Electricity Connection Assistance (BPBL) program, an initiative by the Indonesian government via the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

Before this development, residents faced significant challenges. Students struggled with online learning due to unstable energy and internet connections, and local religious teachers were often forced to halt lessons when kerosene supplies ran out. Local residents expressed gratitude for the project, noting that the reliable power supply brings the village into parity with other regions in Indonesia.
