Patient associations launch healthcare reform campaign in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The ‘Glasaj za život’ (Vote for Life) initiative has launched a new campaign titled ‘Pitaj. Traži odgovor.’ (Ask. Seek an answer.) to demand accountability from political entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding healthcare.

Representing more than 35 patient associations, the initiative presented the ‘Patient Agenda for Healthcare 2026-2030.’ This document outlines five primary demands for future authorities: ensuring access to medicines and regular list revisions, eliminating waiting lists for therapies, establishing a unified patient registry, protecting patient rights, and involving patients in decision-making processes.

Sead Sefić, an implementer of the initiative, stated that the movement represents diverse diagnoses and regions across the country, noting that patients are no longer content with merely pointing out problems but are now defining specific expectations for the upcoming elections.
