Patina Osaka named Japan's top luxury hotel in global awards

Patina Osaka, a luxury hotel operated by the Capella Hotel Group, has achieved significant international recognition. The hotel, which opened in May 2025 near Osaka Castle Park, was named the number one hotel in Japan in the ‘World’s Best Awards 2026’ by Travel + Leisure.

Additionally, the property was ranked 33rd in ‘The 50 Best Hotels 2026’ list, making it the highest-ranked hotel in Osaka and the third highest in Japan. The hotel features 221 rooms, diverse dining options including the signature restaurant P72, and advanced wellness facilities such as cryotherapy.

This development coincides with broader urban growth in central Osaka. A new luxury hotel is scheduled to open in the city in spring 2027 near a riverfront location, as part of an area seeing increased construction of high-rise residential towers and new railway infrastructure to enhance regional vitality.
