Patna: Man arrested for killing 1.5-year-old brother in temple

A 22-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of his 1.5-year-old brother in Jeetan Chhapra village, located in the Paliganj subdivision of Patna, Bihar. The victim's head was discovered near a Durga temple in the Ranitalab police station area, causing widespread panic among local residents.

According to police reports, the suspect, identified as Ajit Kumar (also known as Bala), allegedly carried the child approximately 200 meters from their home to the temple before killing him. Local reports suggest the suspect has been struggling with substance abuse for several months, though a specific motive for the killing has not yet been established.

Paliganj DSP-2 Pankaj Sharma confirmed the arrest and stated that the weapon used in the crime has been recovered. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been deployed to the scene to collect scientific evidence as the investigation continues.
