A 60-year-old woman, identified as Rekha Devi, was allegedly murdered by her son in the Diwan Mohalla area of Patna, Bihar. The incident occurred late Saturday night around 2:25 AM in the Khajekala police station jurisdiction.
According to local authorities, the victim was burned to death. Following the incident, the Patna City Assistant Superintendent of Police, Raj Kishore Singh, confirmed that the suspect, the victim's son, has been arrested.
The body has been sent to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police are currently investigating the motive behind the crime and the specific circumstances surrounding the fire. Evidence collected from the scene and witness testimonies are being used to advance the investigation.
