Patna police encounter with extortionists on Son River

A police encounter occurred in the Son River within the Bihata police station area of Patna district after authorities received information regarding criminals using boats to extort money.

During the confrontation, a shootout ensued between the police and the criminals. One criminal sustained a gunshot wound, and a sub-inspector also suffered a gunshot wound to the hand. Both individuals were hospitalized for treatment.

Following the encounter, police arrested two criminals and recovered several weapons, including two pistols, a rifle, a carbine, a country-made pistol, and a boat. Authorities are currently investigating the extent of the extortion network operating in the river.
