Pato Bragado to change medical appointment scheduling in September

Starting September 1, the process for scheduling specialized medical consultations and exams in Pato Bragado will undergo changes. Patients must visit the Scheduling sector of the Health Unit with personal identification and their medical referral guide.

Staff will verify basic data, including name, CPF, telephone, and the requested procedure, before entering the information into a computerized system. This process will generate an electronic protocol number, which ensures the patient's place in the queue and allows for request tracking.

The most significant change is that the physical medical referral guide will no longer be retained by the health unit. Instead, the document will be returned to the patient. Once a date for the consultation or exam is confirmed, the Health Unit will notify the patient, who must then return to the Scheduling sector with both the electronic protocol number and the physical medical guide. The Health Secretariat advises that patients are responsible for safeguarding their physical documentation, as lost guides will require a new referral from a physician.
