Pato Branco and Ponte Nova push municipal budget proposals
The city of Pato Branco in Brazil presented its 2027 draft Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) at a public hearing, outlining priorities such as maintaining personnel costs, food allowances, pension scheme contributions, debt service, health and education spending, and ongoing public works. The proposal estimates total municipal revenue of roughly R$748.35 million for the 2027 fiscal year and aims to guide the subsequent Annual Budget Law.
In the neighboring municipality of Ponte Nova, the city council unanimously approved a technical amendment to the 2026 Annual Budget Law and LDO. The amendment clarifies that the limit for supplementary credits—up to 20% of the authorized budget—will be calculated globally across all direct and indirect municipal entities, avoiding restrictive interpretations. The measure now awaits mayoral sanction.
