Pato O’Ward achieved a historic double victory at the Milwaukee Mile, becoming the first IndyCar driver since Rick Mears in 1981 to win two races in a single day. The doubleheader weekend was heavily impacted by rain, which caused the first race to be suspended on Saturday and resumed on Sunday.

O’Ward, driving for Arrow McLaren, secured his 12th career IndyCar victory, surpassing the previous record for Mexican drivers in the series held by Adrián Fernández. In the race that resumed from Saturday's suspension, O’Ward overtook David Malukas late in the event to claim the win. In the second race held on Sunday, O’Ward also took the checkered flag, narrowly defeating Scott McLaughlin.

Simultaneously, Alex Palou clinched his fifth IndyCar Series championship. Despite a tenth-place finish in the second race, Palou’s points advantage over Kyle Kirkwood was sufficient to secure the title mathematically. This achievement marks Palou's fourth consecutive championship, equaling the record set by Sébastien Bourdais.
