Patos de Minas driver abandons vehicle after hitting pole and sign

A driver abandoned a red Fiat Palio in Patos de Minas after crashing into a light pole and a traffic sign on Avenida Marabá. The vehicle was found in a vacant lot with significant front-end damage. Witnesses reported that the driver, described as a short man wearing a gray shirt and a white cap, fled the scene on foot carrying a backpack after the collision.

Local police investigated the vehicle's registration and identified a 53-year-old man as the current driver. While his wife confirmed he had left home that morning, he had not returned by the time the report was closed. The impact left the light pole partially uprooted and supported by telephone wires, requiring intervention from Cemig to secure the area. The vehicle was removed by a tow truck.
