Senior citizens participate in community wellness and inclusion events

Various community initiatives across Portugal and Brazil are focusing on promoting active aging and social inclusion for senior citizens through diverse cultural and health-oriented programs.

In Portugal, the Viver Viana 55+ event in Viana do Castelo combined walking activities with nutritional guidance and relaxation sessions to combat social isolation. In Brazil, several municipalities are hosting dedicated events. The Tribunal de Justiça da Bahia (TJBA) launched the ‘Olha Pra Mim’ project, offering health services, vaccination, and legal guidance. In Cuiabá, the CCI Padre Firmo celebrated 26 years with a spring ball and discussions on the rights of elderly people with disabilities.

Other regional activities include a spring ball in Patos de Minas, a talent show in Maringá featuring 17 performances, and upcoming celebrations for International Day of Older Persons in Feira de Santana. These programs aim to strengthen community bonds, encourage physical activity, and ensure the protection of rights for the elderly population.
