Patra citizens demand protection of municipal property

The group ‘Patra Enomeni’ has called on Mayor Peletidis to implement a comprehensive protection policy for municipal spaces in Patra, Greece. The demand follows recent acts of vandalism at the recently renovated Olga Square, where lighting fixtures were targeted shortly after the project's completion.

The group highlighted the degradation of public spaces, citing the long-term misuse of the Apollon Theater as a prior example. To prevent further damage, they proposed several measures: increased security for Olga Square, improved lighting, immediate repairs to damages, and the use of surveillance technology. They also advocated for the reinstatement and effective operation of the Municipal Police to ensure the maintenance of public order and the preservation of urban infrastructure.
