Patras hosts free breast cancer screenings for Pink the City 2026
The Alma Zois Breast Cancer Association of Achaia has concluded a series of free clinical breast examinations in Patras as part of the Pink the City 2026 initiative. Held from October 6 to October 10 at the Three Allies Square, the program utilized a mobile unit from the General Directorate of Public Health and Social Welfare of the Western Greece Region.
During the five-day campaign, 194 women underwent free clinical examinations. Of these, 27 women were referred for further diagnostic testing. To support these referrals, 15 free mammograms and 12 free breast ultrasounds were provided through collaborating diagnostic centers.
The 14th annual Pink the City event will culminate in a symbolic walk on Sunday, October 18, starting at 11:00 AM at the intersection of Maizonos and Agiou Nikolaou streets in central Patras. The initiative aims to promote breast cancer awareness, prevention, and early diagnosis across the community. Additionally, the digital advertising company mediawall. has partnered with the event to offer one month of free LED videowall advertising to female entrepreneurs in Western Greece and Epirus to support the campaign.
