Patras Dance Department celebrates 50 years of cultural activity

The Dance Department of the Municipality of Patras celebrated its 50th anniversary on Friday, October 9, with a commemorative event held at the Palace of Word and Art. The celebration honored five decades of amateur dance activity and cultural contribution to the city.

Patras Mayor Kostas Peletidis and Deputy Mayor of Culture Pavlos Skouras attended the event, which included teachers and students of the department. Officials noted that supporting amateur creative expression remains a core component of the municipality's cultural policy.

Established on October 9, 1976, the department has focused on Greek folk dance and traditional culture. Over its history, it has produced various notable works and performances, maintaining a significant cultural footprint in the region.
