Patras: Family of cameraman donates organs after fatal accident

Giorgos Triantafyllopoulos, a 31-year-old cameraman for Ionian TV, has passed away following a severe motorcycle accident in Patras. The accident occurred on September 6 at Akti Dymion, where he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a signpost.

After undergoing surgery and receiving intensive care at Agios Andreas Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on September 12. Following his death, his family made the decision to donate his organs, providing hope to patients on transplant waiting lists.

The Hellenic Organ of Organ Transplantation coordinated the procedure, working with medical and nursing staff and transplant teams across Greece to ensure the safe transfer of the organs to various transplant centers.
