Patras Mayor supports student and worker protests

Patras Mayor Kostas Peletidis joined a strike rally and procession in support of students, university administrative staff, teachers, and hospital doctors.

During his address to the demonstrators, Peletidis criticized the government's allocation of public funds. He argued that while major corporations and banks report record profits, public sectors such as education and healthcare face severe underfunding. He specifically highlighted the high costs of military expenditures, such as Patriot missiles, and the lack of resources for student needs and modern kindergarten facilities.
