Patras Municipality addresses pedestrian zone damage

The Municipality of Patras has issued an appeal to stop the repeated violations of pedestrian zone regulations on Meizonos Street. Local authorities report that delivery and transport companies are frequently driving vehicles over marble surfaces and flower beds, causing significant structural damage.

In the last month alone, marble and curbing have required repeated replacement due to damage caused by supply trucks. While the municipality acknowledges the logistical needs of local businesses, it emphasized that pedestrian zones are designed for public use and walking. The ongoing unauthorized traffic is depriving citizens of their right to a functional and aesthetic city center.
