Patras Municipality distributes 22 tons of food for stray animals

The Municipality of Patras is distributing 22 tons of dry food for puppies, adult dogs, and cats as part of its organized stray animal management program. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with local animal welfare organizations and individual volunteers.

The current distribution addresses 438 approved requests. The process is being held at the municipal parking lot in Drosopoulou Square and is scheduled to conclude next week. Deputy Mayor of Recycling Promotion and Agricultural Development, Athina Kallimani-Georgitsopoulou, is overseeing the action.

The municipality also highlighted the ongoing need for public awareness regarding the prevention of uncontrolled breeding through sterilization and the importance of adopting stray animals. Additionally, the municipality's management structure in Drepano provides shelter for sterilized, injured, and abandoned animals.
