Patras Notary Employees Oppose New Land Registry Location

The Association of Employees in the Notary Offices of the Patras Court of Appeals is calling for a new public tender to find a location for the Land Registry of Western Greece. The association is opposing a recent recommendation by an evaluation committee to relocate the office to a two-story building on the New National Road Patras-Athens 81.

According to the association, the proposed site fails to meet the original tender requirements, which specified that the property must be located within the city, near public services such as the Courthouse and the City Hall, and easily accessible via public transport or with sufficient parking.

The group argues that moving the Land Registry away from the city center will increase travel time and costs for notary employees, lawyers, and engineers who must frequently visit the office for document filings and case monitoring. They also express concern that the relocation will hinder access for citizens and place an undue burden on smaller notary offices with limited staff.
