Patras political landscape shifts as Mayor Peletidis eyes fourth term

Political discussions regarding the upcoming municipal elections in Patras have commenced, with current Mayor Kostas Peletidis potentially seeking a fourth consecutive term. Peletidis has served the municipality for eleven years, a tenure that has brought both recognition for his social policies and criticism regarding his handling of certain local issues and his willingness to engage with political opponents.

Analysis suggests that Peletidis's repeated electoral successes may be partly attributed to the inability of opposing political parties to reach a consensus on a unified candidate, often leading voters to prefer the incumbent over internal party rivals.
