Patras to join Marella Cruises summer itinerary in 2028

Marella Cruises, a member of the TUI Group, has announced that the vessel ‘Marella Explorer’ will include the port of Patras in its summer cruise schedule starting in July 2028. The ship will visit Patras as part of the new ‘Grecian Gems’ itinerary, which departs from Corfu.

This development follows organized promotional efforts by the Chamber of Achaia, the Region of Western Greece, and the Patras Port Authority (OLPA). The goal of these entities is to position Patras not merely as a transit port, but as a primary gateway to a broader tourism product encompassing Western Greece. These efforts included participation in the International Cruise Exhibition in Hamburg in September 2025 and targeted meetings with industry executives. Additionally, there has been expressed interest from the cruise line Azamara regarding the region.
