Patriarch Bartholomew to officiate Mitsotakis son's wedding in 2027

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew has revealed that Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has invited him to officiate the wedding of his son, Konstantinos, in September 2027.

The announcement was made in Imbros during celebrations marking the 65th anniversary of the Patriarch's ordination. Bartholomew noted that the invitation came during a telephone conversation intended to wish the Prime Minister a speedy recovery following a recent bicycle accident in Chania.

The Patriarch stated that Mitsotakis requested he set aside a date in September 2027 to perform the ceremony for Konstantinos and Maria Sakkari, adding, “Perhaps if I am in good health.”
