Patriarch Daniel leads Dormition of the Mother of God celebrations in Kyustendil

Patriarch Daniel of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church led celebrations for the Dormition of the Mother of God in Kyustendil. During a patriarchal liturgy at the ‘Dormition of the Mother of God’ temple, the Patriarch described the Virgin Mary as a manifestation of God’s great mercy toward humanity.

He emphasized that the Virgin Mary serves as an example of constancy and devotion to God despite life's trials. He urged believers to remain faithful through faith and patience, citing her words at the wedding in Cana: ‘Whatever He tells you, do it.’

In Kyustendil, the festivities included the blessing of traditional festive breads. The holiday is also observed in Troyan Monastery, where thousands gathered for the celebration.
