Patriarch Daniel of Romania delivers religious sermons

Patriarch Daniel of Romania delivered religious sermons at the Saint George Chapel of the Patriarchal Residence regarding the importance of forgiveness and the Dormition of the Mother of God.

During a service on August 16, 2026, the Patriarch emphasized that forgiving others is a prerequisite for experiencing divine mercy and achieving holiness. He noted that true forgiveness requires seeking God's grace to overcome egoism and vengeance, citing martyrs as examples of those who forgave their persecutors. He stated that such forgiveness is necessary for participation in the Holy Eucharist.

In a separate sermon on August 15, 2026, marking the Dormition of the Mother of God, the Patriarch discussed the transition from earthly life to incorruptible existence. He explained the theological significance of the icon of the Dormition, where Christ holds the soul of the Virgin Mary, symbolizing the unique bond between the Son and His Mother.
