Patriarch of Jerusalem meets US Ambassador to Lebanon

Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III met with Michel Issa, the United States Ambassador to Lebanon, to discuss the vital importance of the Christian presence in Jerusalem for the stability of the Middle East.

During the meeting at the Patriarchate, Theophilos III emphasized that Jerusalem remains a sacred site for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. He noted that churches in Syria, Lebanon, and the Holy Land contribute to peaceful coexistence and serve local communities. The Patriarch highlighted the role of the Patriarchate in preserving the Holy Places and keeping them accessible to all.

The Patriarch also referenced a previous meeting held in the Oval Office with President Trump regarding the spiritual role of Jerusalem and the status of Christians in the region. Ambassador Issa visited the Holy Sepulchre during his visit.
