Patriarch Porfirije blesses new school year at Saint Sava Seminary

Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church presided over a Holy Hierarchical Liturgy at the Saint Sava Theological Seminary in Belgrade to mark the beginning of the new school year on September 1, 2026.

During his sermon, the Patriarch offered a blessing to professors, staff, and students, emphasizing that faith in Christ is the foundation of existence. He described the enrollment of students into the seminary as a divine mystery intended for serving the Holy Liturgy.

Following the service, the Patriarch, accompanied by Rector Protopresbyter Radomir Vrućinić, toured the school's renovated and adapted facilities. The recent renovations, part of an ongoing project for the historic building designed by architect Aleksandar Deroko, include upgraded kitchen facilities, student restrooms, and a new school clinic equipped to provide primary medical care for students.
