Patriarch Porfirije calls for unity during Australian visit

Patriarch Porfirije, the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, addressed believers during a canonical visit to the Saint Sava Monastery in Eylands, Australia. During a liturgy, he emphasized the importance of unity, forgiveness, and love, stating that division is contrary to Christian values.

The Patriarch noted that uniformity is not a divine blessing, asserting that “no one thinks that uniformity should be carried out in the Church.” He described the blessing of God as the recognition of individual diversity, where every person possesses a unique gift and identity.

Addressing the diaspora, Porfirije remarked that regardless of geographical distance from their roots, believers are in their homeland whenever they gather in a holy temple, as the Church transcends time and borders.
