Patriarch Porfirije consecrates Holy Archangel Gabriel Church in Pale

Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church has consecrated the Church of the Assembly of the Holy Archangel Gabriel in Pale. Following the consecration, a Holy Hierarchical Liturgy was held.

The ceremony was attended by numerous clergy and high-ranking officials, including Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, and Stasa Kosarac, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers. Other attendees included ministers for science and technology, justice, and members of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.

Construction of the temple began in 2008, following an initiative by the late Metropolitan Nikolaj to address the spiritual needs of the growing student population in the area. The church is situated near several faculties of the University of East Sarajevo, serving as a spiritual and cultural hub for the community.
