Patriarch Porfirije consecrates St. Stephen's Church in Kibborum

Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church led a religious ceremony in Kibborum, Australia, to consecrate the Church of Saint Archdeacon Stephen. The temple, originally built in 1994 by the local Serbian community in Kibborum and the Melbourne area, was consecrated during a Holy Liturgy attended by numerous believers.

During his address to the Serbian diaspora, Patriarch Porfirije emphasized the importance of faith in maintaining identity despite geographic distance from the homeland. He noted that while different time zones separate the diaspora from Serbia, they are united by a “zone called faith” that transcends divisions and hardships. The service included musical performances by the church choir, the ‘Stevan Mokranjac’ choir, and the Russian Orthodox Male Choir.
