Patriarch Theodore II named Honorary Citizen of East Mani

Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa has been declared an Honorary Citizen of East Mani. The announcement followed a two-day series of religious and official events in the region.

The visit included services at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Yiatrissa of Taygetos, featuring the Orthros and a Panegyric Patriarchal Divine Liturgy. The ceremonies concluded in Areopoli at the local indoor gymnasium, where the decision of the Municipality and Municipal Council was officially recognized.

Peloponnese Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos attended the ceremonies, praising the move as a significant moment for both Mani and the wider Peloponnese. He noted that the honor recognizes the Patriarch’s lifelong dedication to faith and service, strengthening the bond between the Patriarchate and the Peloponnese region.
