Patrice Aminati discusses cancer diagnosis and marriage breakdown

Patrice Aminati has spoken openly in a ZDF production, ‘Terra Xplore: Im Kopf von...’, regarding her battle with stage four melanoma and the subsequent impact on her marriage to moderator Daniel Aminati.

Diagnosed in early 2023, seven months after the birth of her daughter, Charly Malika, Aminati is currently receiving palliative treatment as the cancer has metastasized to multiple organs. She described the period following her diagnosis as ‘cruel’, noting that the transition from a healthy woman to a patient requiring care caused her to lose her sense of self and strained her relationship with her husband.

Aminati revealed that the couple publicly separated in late 2025. She explained that the physical and emotional exhaustion made maintaining a romantic partnership difficult, leading her to seek refuge and support in her parental home. Despite the severity of her condition and the presence of brain metastases, she expressed a desire to continue living, stating, ‘I believe the diagnosis, but not the prognosis.’
