Patricia Blanco apologizes for transphobic remarks on reality show

Reality TV star Patricia Blanco has issued a public apology via Instagram following transphobic remarks made during the filming of ‘#CoupleChallenge – Halloween Edition’. The incident occurred during a confrontation involving contestant Valencia Stähr, a transgender woman.

During the episode, Blanco attempted to mediate a dispute but subsequently directed disparaging comments toward Stähr, stating, “Okay, it’s Halloween. To be completely honest, right now, you are below me, sister or brother.” Following the remark, the production team removed Blanco and her partner, Jasmin Herren, from the competition. Reports indicate that Blanco may have violated her production contract, potentially affecting her expected payment of over 10,000 euros.

In her apology, Blanco stated that she has reflected on her behavior and acknowledged that her choice of words was “wrong and hurtful.” She clarified that she did not intend to discriminate against anyone and expressed her intention to apologize personally and in writing to both Stähr and the broadcaster, RTLZWEI.
