Patricia Bullrich backs collector‑list reform in Argentina

Senator Patricia Bullrich reversed her earlier criticism and announced support for the "listas colectoras" (collector lists) being promoted by Karina Milei, the president's secretary general. Bullrich said, "No me gusta, pero no encontramos un sistema mejor," acknowledging the proposal as a partial solution to the issues she previously attributed to the open primary system (PASO).

The plan seeks to replace the mandatory open primaries with a system that allows multiple candidates from the same alliance to run together on a single ballot, adapting the collector‑list model to the single‑paper ballot. Approval would require an aggravated majority of 37 votes in the Senate and 129 in the Chamber of Deputies. Negotiations are ongoing, involving the chief of staff and provincial governors, but no legislative progress is expected before the parliamentary winter recess.
