Patricia Bullrich weighs 2027 presidential candidacy
Senator Patricia Bullrich is navigating political tensions between her relationship with President Javier Milei and her potential presidential ambitions for 2027. During a recent meeting with business leaders at the IDEA colloquium in Mar del Plata, Bullrich addressed inquiries regarding her candidacy. While she avoided a definitive yes or no, she emphasized her commitment to ensuring the current political project is re-elected, regardless of the candidate.
Bullrich has maintained that she will not rush her decision, stating, “I am not going to hurry. I don't have that much time either,” noting that she will wait to see how national events unfold and how competitive Milei remains heading into 2027. While she describes her relationship with the President as “excellent,” reports suggest underlying friction with Secretary General Karina Milei regarding political stances, such as the potential elimination of primary elections (PASO).
In recent interviews, Bullrich has also signaled an autonomous political agenda, calling for greater speed in economic reforms and expressing a desire to transform the country to achieve general welfare.
