She described a period of feeling rudderless due to an empty nest and unemployment during the pandemic, which led to increased alcohol consumption. Heaton stated that a mortifying moment during a family night served as a sign from God to quit.

She expressed concerns regarding candidates who advocate for the abolition of borders and the presidency, questioning their commitment to Western values.
