Patricia Martínez Barba ratified to lead Imeplan through 2030
The Metropolitan Coordination Board (JCM) has unanimously ratified Patricia Martínez Barba as the Director General of the Institute for Planning and Management of the Development of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (Imeplan) for the 2026–2030 period.
During her report on the 2022–2026 term, Martínez Barba highlighted several key achievements, including the update of the Metropolitan Land Use Plan (POTmet), which established unified zoning and transport strategies across nine municipalities. Other notable projects include the ZOOM Metropolitan platform, the Metropolitan Viewer for land information, and the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PIMUS), which aims to guide regional transit and cycling networks through 2040.
Following her ratification, Martínez Barba announced she will take a temporary medical leave of absence. During her absence, the Institute will continue operations through its technical team, and the Governing Board will appoint an interim official to manage duties until her return.
