Patricio Campillo debuts Spring/Summer 2027 collection in New York

Mexican designer Patricio Campillo debuted his Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled ‘In medias res’, during New York Fashion Week. The collection explores themes of nostalgia and the preservation of memory through garments that appear to be in transitional states, such as shirts falling off the shoulder or draped fabrics.

The designs draw significant inspiration from Mexican charro culture, incorporating elements like horsehair, reins, and chaparreras. The collection features a vibrant color palette including orange, pink, and red, alongside neutral tones. Materiality plays a key role, with the use of silk, crepe, onyx, and a biologically derived polymer produced by bacteria.

In addition to apparel, the collection expands into accessories, including silver and onyx jewelry. The presentation, held in partnership with Tequila Don Julio, featured a musical fusion of regional Mexican music, cumbia, and electronic beats.
