Criminal justice actions reported across Mexico and Honduras

Various judicial proceedings and law enforcement actions have been reported across Mexico and Honduras involving diverse criminal activities.

In Honduras, the Ministerio Público secured pretrial detention for Patricio Ferrera Rodas, an alleged coordinator for the ‘Cártel del Diablo’ in Yoro. He faces charges of drug trafficking and criminal association, allegedly acting under the direction of his brother, Esteban Ferrera Rodas. Authorities seized cocaine during his arrest.

In Mexico, several legal developments occurred:

• In the State of Mexico, four individuals were linked to a process for express kidnapping and robbery on the Mexico-Querétaro highway involving a Toyota Hilux.

• In Ciudad Juárez, authorities secured legal actions against an individual for domestic violence and injuries against a minor, and against another for attempted aggravated feminicide.

• In Chihuahua, a suspect was linked to a process for aggravated robbery in the Riberas de Sacramento neighborhood, and three minors were linked to a process for kidnapping in Ciudad Juárez.

• In Tijuana, two separate individuals, Alejandro Eduardo ‘N’ and Jesús Brian ‘N’, received sentences of two years in prison for equivalent vehicle theft crimes.

• In Mexico City, a man was linked to a process for aggravated sexual abuse against his 12-year-old daughter in the Benito Juárez borough.
