Patrick Bruel accused of rape; Flavie Flament calls his defence 'terrible defamation'

On RTL, French television presenter Flavie Flament reiterated that singer Patrick Bruel knowingly assaulted her when she was a minor in 1991. She said she was "drugged and raped" and denounced the arguments presented by Bruel’s defence as "terrible defamation," adding that the defence’s versions of the relationship kept changing.

Bruel has denied any non‑consensual act, stating that "the relationship was neither violent, nor forced, nor deceitful". Flament said she may file another complaint after hearing the defence’s arguments. More than thirty women have come forward with accusations against Bruel, and he is currently the subject of five judicial investigations in France and Belgium for alleged rape, attempted rape and sexual assault. He remains presumed innocent pending trial.
