Patrick Bruel faces court ruling on judicial control restrictions

French singer Patrick Bruel faces ongoing legal proceedings following approximately 30 complaints involving allegations of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. The singer, who is presumed innocent, has firmly denied all accusations, which include claims from presenter Flavie Flament regarding an incident in 1991.

As part of his judicial control, Bruel has been subject to several restrictions, including a 500,000 euro bail, mandatory psychological care, and a prohibition on leaving French territory. His legal team has petitioned the Versailles Court of Appeal to lift the travel ban, arguing there is no flight risk. The court is expected to rule on this request regarding the easing of his judicial control.

In light of the legal situation, Bruel announced the cancellation of his 35th-anniversary tour for the album ‘Alors regarde’ in September. He stated on social media that he chose the “path of appeasement” as the tour had become a subject of debate beyond his control.
