Patrick Bruel charged with two new sexual‑assault complaints in France
Two fresh criminal complaints have been filed against French singer‑actor Patrick Bruel. The complaints, lodged on 16 July and 23 July with the Paris judicial police, accuse him of rape and sexual aggression. The first complaint alleges a rape in 1994 in Toulouse involving a 19‑year‑old hotel receptionist; the second concerns alleged sexual aggression and exhibitionism during a 2005 film shoot on the Greek island of Rhodes.
Bruel has been placed under formal investigation (mis en examen) since mid‑June 2026 for four separate cases and is designated as an assisted witness in four others. At least six earlier complaints, dating from 1992 to 2014, have already been recorded for alleged rapes, attempted rapes and sexual assaults. Bruel denies all allegations and says he will respond only through the justice system.
The cases have intensified media scrutiny and led to the cancellation of several of his scheduled concerts.
