Patrick Bruel faces two new sexual assault complaints
Two fresh complaints have been lodged against French singer Patrick Bruel, one on 16 July and another on 23 July 2026. The first alleges a rape that allegedly occurred in the autumn of 1994, while the second accuses him of sexual assault linked to a film shoot in 2005. Both alleged offenses are considered prescribed under French law, but the complainants chose to file the reports to give voice to other women.
The new filings raise the total number of complaints against the 67‑year‑old artist to at least 31. Bruel was already under formal investigation in four separate cases, including an alleged rape in Neuilly‑sur‑Seine in 2008 and an alleged attempted rape in Brussels in 2010. He has also been listed as an assisted witness in four other matters. Bruel denies all allegations, and his legal team has said he will respond to the accusations in the appropriate judicial proceedings. Following the scandal, he has cancelled several concerts and postponed theatre engagements.
