Patrick Bruel placed under judicial control as new sexual‑assault complaints are filed

French singer‑actor Patrick Bruel was released from the Nanterre tribunal under strict judicial control after prosecutors asked for his pre‑trial detention. The judge ordered a €500,000 bail, a ban on leaving France and prohibitions on contacting the alleged victims.

Since March, eight women, including former TV presenter Flavie Flament and an ex‑fan, have publicly accused Bruel of rape, sexual assault and harassment. Two additional complaints were filed on 12 June, one alleging attempted rape and the other sexual assault. A lawyer for the complainants said the alleged modus operandi involved “targeting women in the audience and not giving them time to consent.”

The investigation also revisits an incident from August 2019 in Pietrosella, Corsica, where a 21‑year‑old masseuse reported inappropriate conduct during a backstage massage. While she did not file a formal complaint at the time, her testimony helped launch the current probe.

Bruel has repeatedly denied all allegations, stating, “I have never forced a woman” and asserting his presumption of innocence. He continues to work, with his upcoming tour officially unchanged. The case remains under the jurisdiction of the Nanterre judicial court and is being closely followed by French media.
