Patrick Bruel remains under judicial control amid new sexual assault allegations
French singer Patrick Bruel, 67, has been placed under judicial control after being formally charged with rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and harassment. He spent 48 hours in custody before being released, and the presumption of innocence applies while the investigation continues.
New testimonies have emerged, including remarks from a fellow singer of his generation who said, “On savait qu’il était dragueur… quand il aimait bien une fille, il pouvait être lourd.” The same singer did not describe any specific incident.
Bruel’s longtime makeup artist, Clémentine Jaraud, who has worked with him for 36 years, publicly defended him, stating she never observed any inappropriate behavior during their collaboration and described him as “a man bruised by the accusations.” The case continues to attract extensive media attention in France.
