Patrick Bruel’s career halted as French TV cuts his music amid assault allegations

French singer Patrick Bruel is under investigation for multiple accusations of rape, attempted rape and sexual assault. Several judicial inquiries have been opened, but Bruel continues to deny the allegations and remains presumed innocent. The controversy has led him to cancel his upcoming tour and withdraw from the charity concert Les Enfoirés 2027.

Television presenter Nagui, citing support for victims of violence, removed all Bruel songs from his game show N’oubliez pas les paroles! and later edited the July 30 rebroadcast of the music program Taratata on France 2 to erase Bruel’s performances and his name from the credits. The broadcaster said the edits were made to avoid visual controversy while the legal process proceeds.

Separately, Bruel reflected on a personal trip to Algeria, where he paid tribute to actor Roger Hanin at his tomb, recalling his childhood roots. The visit was discussed in media interviews but is unrelated to the legal case.
