Patrick Bruel faces new attempted rape complaint and 32 total allegations

French singer and actor Patrick Bruel is facing increasing legal scrutiny following a new complaint for attempted rape. Lawyer Myriam Guedj-Benayoun, representing several complainants, stated that the new allegation involves a woman who was just reaching adulthood at the time of the reported incident. The lawyer noted a recurring pattern where victims in the entertainment industry are approached and subsequently left alone with the artist.

Bruel, 67, is currently under investigation in four cases involving sexual violence and holds the status of assisted witness in four others. In total, he is facing at least 32 complaints for rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. While some allegations are subject to statutes of limitations, legal counsel is working to link cases to potentially lift these restrictions.

Despite the ongoing judicial proceedings, Bruel intends to proceed with his 35th-anniversary tour, scheduled to begin on October 2 in Chartres. The decision has sparked public debate and calls for boycotts. His legal team has previously noted that his judicial control was eased in July to allow international travel, a decision that was appealed by the prosecution. He remains prohibited from contacting accusers and must undergo psychological care.
